Julie Ann Overby, 55, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on January 16th at the University of Utah Hospital after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Born on March 4th, 1969, in West Valley City, she was the cherished daughter of Jerry and Carolene Shepherd. Julie graduated from Granger High School in 1987.
Julie made her mark as a dedicated customer service representative throughout her career, lending her warm voice and helpful spirit to various companies, including American Express, UPS, and the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles. Outside of work, she found immense joy in immersing herself in music, often dancing and singing along to the tunes of Bon Jovi and Elton John, among others. Her vibrant personality was complemented by her deep commitment to being a supportive friend and loving family member.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Overby; children, Brandy, Brooke, Steven, and Jason; and nine beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings Kathy, Jerry, and Pamela. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Carolene.
Julie had a quiet yet loving impact on her community. She was known as someone easy to talk to and kind. She was known for her approachable demeanor, always making those around her feel comfortable and valued. Her dedication to the local Little League was particularly noteworthy; Julie served passionately as an assistant coach and scorekeeper for her children's baseball team, fostering a love for the game and instilling values of teamwork and commitment in her children forever.
Mom, your husband will never forget the late-night dances he enjoyed with his wife, his best friend, your children will carry the warmth of your love and support in their hearts, and your grandchildren will always remember you as "The Fun Grandma!" Your memory will forever be a source of warmth and joy in our lives.
