Julia Anne Rigby Parker passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born in late 1943, the third child of Fred and Ardith Rigby. She was raised in Sublett, Idaho where she was blessed with a love for her Heavenly Father by good and loving parents. Moving to Utah for higher education, she received her Associates in Science and a registered nursing license from Weber State University. She was able to complete her BSN some years later.
She was employed by Intermountain Health Care working in several units before finding a home in the Thoracic ICU at LDS Hospital. She always enjoyed her nursing career and helping those who found themselves in her care. She formed many long-lasting friendships in the ICU and was even able to work with her son for a couple years before retiring. She served a Service Mission in the Family History Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In truth, her service never ended throughout her life. Whether providing a welcoming stay for family travelling through or food for neighbors and friends, Julia loved to bring people together and help them in any way she could.
Julia had a bit of a travel bug and wasn’t afraid to go it alone if need be. From China to Central America to Europe, she was up for an adventure. She also enjoyed travelling to visit family and friends across the country.
As a single mother she did it all: coach, fishing and camping guide, boo boo kisser, moral compass, good cop and bad cop, friend and always: Mother. A boy couldn’t have had a better parent. Her constant concern and willingness to dive into a given problem to make things right will always be a testament to her love for her son. She will be sorely missed.
Julia is survived by her son Christopher Stephen Parker Sr and his wife Rachel, with their four children: Topher, Burton, Sydney and Charlotte. She is also survived by her siblings Steven Rigby, Vickie Lindsay (Dennis) and their 4 children: Andrea Hardman (Rhyan), Heidi Barber (Greg), Elisa Moulton (Trent) and Dan Lindsay (Dianna). Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cheryl, her brothers James and Thomas and by her granddaughter Sophia. She also has many nieces and nephews she loves spread all over the country.
