Judy Marie Ross

Feb 18, 1944 Dec 3, 2023

Our wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Dec 3, 2023.

Judy Marie Ross was born in Nebraska on Feb 18, 1944. Shortly afterward, she moved to Hermiston, Oregon. She graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in elementary education and went on to attain her master’s degree in education at Central Washington University. She taught for over 30 plus years. She loved being a teacher and getting to interact with all of the children, hoping to make an impact in their lives. While attending OSU, she met the love of her life, Keith Ross. They were married for 58 wonderful years and lived in the Northwest (Washington and Oregon) until moving to Utah in 1987. Keith was her rock and he cared for her every day.

Judy was known to always have a joke on hand and even her doctors looked forward to her appointments to hear the latest. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and dabbled with crocheting and embroidery. She was a collector of miniatures and flower fairy figurines. She was a master at sudoku (even if she peeked at the answers every once in a while). She was an excellent swimmer and even a lifeguard in her younger years. In the last few years, she became an avid reader of World War II fact and fiction books and enjoyed sharing this interest with her grandson, Skyler.

Judy and Keith enjoyed road-tripping and made it a point to get back to the Oregon coast as much as they could. Their travels did take them as far as Ireland, which will always be known as the “once in a lifetime” trip.

She is survived by her beloved husband Keith, three daughters, three grandsons and one granddaughter, one brother, and many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie Bensel.

There will be a celebration of life next year. The family will be contacted at that time.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to any charity in her name.
