Judy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 18, 1942 to Warren Edgar Davis IV and Beatrice Marie Davis. She was raised in both Salt Lake and Utah Counties, Utah, attending many schools, including American Fork Junior High and Orem High School.

Judy married Jerry Reed Rowley of Orem, Utah in 1960. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. They raised four beautiful children together in Salt Lake City, Utah. Judy was later married for a second time to Richard Claire Peterson of Salt Lake City and gave birth to a 5th Child, Richard Davis Peterson, who brought so much happiness into the family. All 5 children are married and have been such a joy to Judy and have contributed to Judy’s posterity. Judy married John Bovee Dods of Salt Lake City in 1988, whom she has lived with for the past 32 years. He has been her constant companion and caregiver, a loving husband, a grandpa and a best friend to Judy.

Judy has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of her life. She served as a primary teacher to many ages of children, loved to be a ministering sister and to welcome ministering sisters assigned to her into her life and into her home.

Judy has always been a curious, fun loving person, a good friend and a positive, patient, caring, person. She loved to learn, laughed often and had a great smile. She was a calming presence for others, could put people at ease, could talk to/with anyone, and brighten anyone’s day. Her positive attitude especially shined these past several years as her health declined; rarely a complaint was heard.

Grandma Judy loved to buy gifts for her own kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her life revolved around their lives and she did her best to keep in touch. In her early years, she excelled in Darts and Archery, she loved to sing, bowl in bowling leagues, serve as a room mother and to participate in the PTA. She supported her children through all of their activities. She had a beautiful penmanship. She was a wonderful cook and was especially proud of her homemade chili. She sewed fun doll clothes, liked to read, and she really enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles. She will be truly missed.

Judy is survived by her husband, John Bovee Dods; children, Trina McCleary (Rob), Debbie Barnett (Dave), Troy Rowley, Scott Rowley (Sung Eun), Rich Peterson and (Duane); three sisters; Marsha Conley (Robert), Susan Brewer, Paulette Eddy (Steven); 13 grand-children and 20 great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister SheryLynn, her brother Joe, and brother-in-law David Brewer (Susan).

Judy’s children and families would like to give special thanks to Judy’s husband, John Bovee Dods for his compassion and selfless service to our mom, grandma, and great grandma. We love you John. Please wear masks at Funeral Services.
