Jonnie lost his battle with stage 4 lung cancer and COPD on December 30. He was born March 26 , 1931. Dad was diagnosed Nov 16th, 2022 and came to Pam’s house to enjoy the last 4 weeks in comfort.

Dad honorably served in the US Navy before marrying Bonnie Parry on August 29 1953, who preceded him in death after 58 years of marriage. He had a long career of driving a semi-truck most recently with Bird Trucking/ Highway Contractors, who were like family. He enjoyed woodworking and baby-sitting his oldest great-granddaughters Stephanie, Aubbrey and Megan in his retirement.

Most days he could be found sitting on his front porch talking to anyone walking by.

He is survived by his four children Pam Alvey; Patti (Dave) Wolf; Brian (Karla); Brent

10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren plus one on the way, his sister Elsie (Don) several "It's in the book" - Grandpa Jon- his response to being asked how he knows nieces and nephews and his 15 year old dog, Jasper.

A very special thank you to Dr. Roy Gandolphi who was his friend and Dr.

and Hospice nurse Amber and her team.

Everyone will miss his entertaining stories and wonderful sense of humor. All that know him will remember him saying, “It’s in the book”.

He has requested that his body be donated for research to the University of Utah. A celebration of life will be held in the spring

"Louie" as we called him was once my father-in-law. I knew him to be a fine and decent man. Funny, fair, and kind. My deepest sympathies.

We lived next door to him for 46 years. What a wonderful neighbor! It's a heartbreaking sight to see that empty porch with no Jonnie to wave to me anymore. He was a good man and will be sorely missed.

Grandpa Jon was one of the best men I ever knew. If you had the opportunity to meet him, you was a lucky person. My founds memory was him giving us candy after Bonnie said no. He is going to be missed dearly. Lots of love to his family.
