Jonathan was born on April 2, 2001, to Vicky Sarai Martinez and Julio Cesar Fuentes in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jonathan was raised by his mom only and started communicating with his dad in his late teen years. Jonathan attended Kearns High School and was passionate about his woodworking class. Jonathan lived in El Salvador from an early age until he was13. He loved spending time at his grandfather’s farm with his grandfather Indalecio. At age 13, Jonathan, his mother Vicky and younger brother Diego moved to Utah. Jonathan had a big heart with big dreams. He wanted a father figure growing up and dreamed of one day to be able to support his mom and buy her a house. After graduating high school, in 2019, he worked as an emissions inspector at Jeanette Auto & J&S Auto Service. His dream was to become a lawyer. Jonathan went through many struggles in his lifetime, very sad things, a lot of suffering but he had a family that supported him until the end and showed him how much we loved him. In 2017, Jonathan met Charlisa at Kearns High School. Jonathan and Charlisa went on to have 1 child, Gabriel Indalecio Martinez in 2020. Jonathan loved Gabriel Martinez unconditionally & was the best father. Jonathan’s desire was to be there for Gabriel and give Gabriel everything he could not have when he was little but the little time they spent together was the best time of Jonathan’s life.

Anyone who knew Jonathan, knew that he was reserved but once you got to know him, he loved joking around, believed in God, he loved playing video games with his younger brother Diego, spending time with his dog Gigi, listening to music, and always had a smile on his face. Jonny was loving, caring, he had a charming and selfless personality. He had a passion for basketball and was always a source of positivity. Jonathan’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
