It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of John Philip Chamberlin on the evening of April 24, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On Tuesday, October 26, 1926, John began his 98 year journey of life being welcomed into this world and loving arms of his parents, Philip and Constance Chamberlin and a sister, Connie, whom he adored.
After completion of his formal education at South High School in Salt Lake City in 1944, he joined the war effort and set sail with the U.S. Navy where he met the love of his life, Shirley Annette Depue at a USO dance. Upon his discharge from the Navy, John and Shirley settled down in Southern California and started a family beginning with their three beautiful children, a son and 2 daughters, Scott, Sally and Bonnie (Joh), 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Always a pillar of his community, quick with a smile, lending a helping hand, from coaching little league in his younger years to a lifetime of faithful service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he touched the lives of all he met. His light will be dearly missed.
Love you to the moon and back.
We will be gathering to celebrate his life at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Joseph Villa located at 451 Bishop Federal Lane, Salt Lake City followed by graveside services at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 17111 South Redwood Road in Bluffdale, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to cover the funerals expenses. A crowd fund is listed below.
