John Guiseppe Willhard

Nov 30, 1955 Nov 30, 2021

John Guiseppe Willhard was born on October 7th, 1956, in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. JJ (as he was known to his friends and family) passed away on April 8th, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah, from an unexpected heart attack at the age of 65. Though a failing heart took him away from this world, the love he gave left a beacon of light for everyone lucky enough to know him.

JJ was a true cowboy and an avid fisherman and was happiest when he was outdoors, in nature. He and his wife Lesa owned property in East Canyon and spent weekends up there, camping and fishing.

He also had an unparalleled work ethic, serving as head of security for over 30 years at the Expo Mart in downtown Salt Lake City.

JJ was someone who appreciated life and exemplified kindness. His cheerful attitude and humor will be missed.

JJ was a loving husband, survived by his beloved wife, Lesa. They were married for thirty years. He was a proud Papa to two daughters and three sons: Jenny (husband Randy), Jaime, Johnny (wife Ginger), Jeff, and Chris (wife Ashley).

He leaves behind four precious grandchildren: Adam, Daisy, Genevieve, and Jude. He also leaves three cherished siblings: Loretta, Raymond, and Theresa.

A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah.
