Joan Belle Dolio Herrick

On January 23, 2022 Joan Belle Dolio Herrick passed away peacefully in Murray, Utah. She was born in Ottawa, Illinois on June 24, 1942 (79) to Ardwin Joseph Dolio and Helen Beryl Hayes. She graduated from Big Rapids High School class of 1960. She received a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and Master's degree from Michigan State University in Speech Therapy and Audiology. She worked at the Mecosta Osceola Intermediate School District as a special education teacher, speech therapist, Audiologist and Ferris State University education instructor.

In her spare time she volunteered with Area 5 Special Olympics, Big Rapids HS sports boosters and served in several positions within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren, traveling abroad, going to the beach, scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, family history, and cooking. She was an avid reader, collector, bird watcher and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a devoted mother and daughter, caring grandmother, loving wife and sister. She is survived by her family; husband Kent Herrick, her sons: Joe (Kathy) Herrick and Paul (Amy) Herrick, 8 grandchildren, her sisters Jan Haarer and Marcia Dolio and her brother Richard (Jean) Dolio.

Visitation will be held on February 11, 2022 10 AM Mountain (12 PM Eastern) at the Crescent View LDS chapel, 10945 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah followed by a memorial service at 11 AM Mountain (1 PM Eastern).
