Jesus Avelar Ponce, age 37, died on May 6, 2021 in Lehi, Utah. He was born December 1, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carmen Avelar Ponce and Roberto Cuevas Ponce. He was engaged to the love of his life Maria Eatmon.
Jesus was someone who lived life to the fullest, always expressed his heart with honesty and love. He was the kind of person to help others with anything they needed. He completed high school at West High. He helped his father with their trucking business, RPonce Trucking, doing weekly trips throughout the west coast. He enjoyed spending time with family more than anything; especially spending time with his son and his dog “Chon”. Receiving a blessing from his mother and father was always essential before leaving his house. He was a faithful Cowboys fan. His favorite places were Disneyland and Legoland after his first time going at the age of 34. He enjoyed shooting at the gun range and paintballing.
He is survived by his parents Carmen Avelar Ponce and Roberto Cuevas Ponce, fiancé Maria Eatmon, his son Marcos Eatmon, Siblings Roberto Ponce, Luz Ponce, Graciela Ponce, Rocio Huizar (Jorge), and Nancy Melara (Brian), his nephews Jr, Alex, Victor, and Anthony. Nieces Gabby and Yvy and great neice Aleia.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Mama Luz and his paternal grandparents Angel and Aurora Ponce.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah 84123. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah 84123. Cremation will follow the service.
