Jerilynn “Jay” Rees

1966-2020

Our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, and friend passed away April 27th. Her 4 year battle with cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was born November 22, 1966 (11/22/66- a cool number) in Blackfoot Idaho. She grew up in Salt Lake City and Bountiful graduating from Bountiful High School in 1985 where she participated in dance company and track. She attended the University of Utah. She worked a variety of jobs, her favorites being working in the Utah Junior Golf Association, and the Utah section of the PGA. You could be sure that no matter what job she held she found a way to make everything more streamlined and organized. She married the love of her life, Scott in May of 1996 and was sealed a year later in the Salt Lake Temple. She was survived by Scott, her four children, Madison, Hunter, Thomas, and Ella, her parents Jerry and Lynda, brothers Mark and Travis, sisters Bethany and Katrina, her in-laws, and her nieces and nephews all of whom she loved very much. Jay loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially loved working with the young women and teaching Sunday school. She went to 14 Young Women girls camps and still faithfully taught and participated while undergoing cancer treatments. She loved family, traveling, putting her toes in the sand, boating, skiing, golf , Diet Coke, Pie Pizza, mexican food and spending time with friends. She loved art and created many beautiful paintings that were cherished by those she shared them with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but her example and the memories we hold will live on through those whose lives she’s touched. We love you Jay and will look forward to a happy reunion.
