Jeff loved life and pursued many interests which included cars, guns, travel, work, and most of all his family (both people and pets), friends and work associates. Whatever he pursued he did it with depth and intensity.

Jeff was born into this world September 15, 1961 in Logan, Utah to Donald and Harriet Tippetts. Jeff is survived by his parents, Donald and Harriet, brother Scott (Dianne), and sister Laura (Brian) Burrows. He also leaves nephews Joshua Tippetts and Sebastian Burrows and nieces Jennifer Tippetts and Amelia Burrows and great nephew Dominic Martinez. Jeff was preceded in death by his youngest brother Nathan Earl Tippetts. He also leaves behind many friends and former work associates.

Jeff was raised in Midvale, Utah. He attended schools in Midvale, including Hillcrest High School. He graduated from Valley High School in Sandy, Utah.

Jeff started working for earnings at a young age, starting with a paper route for the Deseret News riding his bike to deliver papers in afternoons after school. IHC Cottonwood Hospital Housekeeping, Safeway Stores, and ADDS (Applied Digital Data Systems) all helped round a work ethic before he jumped to his dream job of selling cars. He sold cars at Spartan AMC – Jeep – Renault in Murray, Utah and then for Stephen Wade in Salt Lake City. He made several friendships and networked, keeping friends throughout his life from the automotive community. Jeff loved law enforcement and jumped to his next dream job of working for the Utah Highway Patrol as a dispatcher in the Orem office serving Utah county. He then moved to Iron County office in Cedar City, Utah before becoming a supervisor for Uintah County in Vernal, Utah. Jeff moved on to WordPerfect’s manufacturing division, starting his next career with corporate safety and OSHA expertise. He then moved to Cedar Hills Insurance, and then PayAmerica as a PEO representative insuring clients and ensuring that they had the training they needed and were in compliance. Then he entered the railroad environment by joining the DFW airport expansion of MARTA rails. RailWorks took him from Dallas to Virginia. Jeff wrapped up his career with the fast track expansion between San Francisco and San Jose with the company Balfour Beatty.

Jeff cherished his relationships. His pets were as much of his life as any person was. His pets include Gandolf the Great (Tiki Tiki) the Russian Blue, Sadie the Beagle, Penny Pup the Staffordshire, Buster the Boxer, and Superstar the African Grey Parrot.

We don’t know if it matters to him now or not, but really, an obituary of Jeff’s life might be missing something if we didn’t list his cars. He had owned an Oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme, Renault LeCar, Dodge Omni, Dodge Mirada, Cadillac that turned out to be more trouble than it was worth, Nissan Maxima, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro, Mercedes Benz C63, Kia Optima, Kia Sportage, Ford Shelby Mustang, and a few Ford Explorers. We expect that he would update you with the years and specs if given the chance.

Besides cars, for which he had an impeccable eye for detail, Jeff loved good food, good beverages, and especially if you could include those with friends. He loved guns. He loved to travel, to draw and to sketch. He loved to cook and was particular about it. He strived to be his best. He loved history and connecting with it. He thrilled at meeting famous people or being at and seeing where history occurred. He cherished his heritage and his progenitors. Jeff was a man of strong values and convictions and a matching work ethic.
