Jared Roland Hanson

Nov 15, 1975 Nov 13, 2023

Millcreek, Utah

Jared Roland Hanson, after a long courageous battle with cancer, passed away surrounded by his loved ones two days before his 48th birthday.

Jared was born November 15, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roland and Nancy Hanson. He was the oldest of three sons. Jared attended West High School where he had many friends and competed on the varsity wrestling team.

Jared was always striving to be his best. He was a first-class athlete. In his short life, he ran many marathons and completed three Ironman triathlons. Jared was a beast and always set and accomplished his goals and inspired others.

Jared met the love of his life, Brittany Pace, and they were married in 2006. Jared’s career as an airline pilot took them to Orlando, FL for a few years but they later settled in Peachtree City, Georgia. They loved Peachtree City. Jared, Brittany, and their son Kaden enjoyed driving the golf cart around the town, playing Pokémon Go, watching movies, listening to music, and going out to eat. Jared loved more than anything being a husband to Britt and a dad to Kaden. He also loved his cat, Lily. There was nothing more important to him than Brittany and Kaden.

Jared was a pilot and really enjoyed flying. During his career, he worked his way up from flying cargo to flying for Mesa, Delta, and Southwest Airlines. He was an extremely hard and reliable worker and always had a story about one of his past flights.

Jared had a love for cars and driving fast. He has owned several sports cars over his lifetime, his latest joy was his blue Porsche 911 Turbo S 992. He also loved music. Amongst his top artists were Metallica, Guns N Roses, Poison, AC/DC, and the Beastie Boys. In his short lifetime, he attended more concerts than most.

Jared loved his brothers. Whenever the three of them were together, they could be found eating at La Frontera. They all claim Frontera to have the best chips, salsa, and smothered burritos with cheese. They grew up eating at La Frontera and could sit together for hours talking about sports, cars, music, and their families.

Lastly, Jared was not a quitter. Throughout his short life, he continually accomplished many things all while overcoming huge trials. Sadly, he lost both his sweet mom and wife to cancer. However, throughout it all, he endured. He found the good in life. He never quit and always put his best foot forward. He lived day to day smiling and never complaining. Until his last days on this earth, he would get up, dressed in his band shirt, flat-billed hat, skull hoody, stylish shoes, and live life to its fullest. That right there is Jared in a nutshell-queue music blasting in the background.

Jared is survived by his son, Kaden; his father Roland (Jeannette); his mother-in-law Gina, his two brothers Travis (Cori) and Josh (Angela); his four nieces and four nephews on the Hanson side and 10 nieces and 9 nephews on Brittany’s side, and his great friend Kalee. He is preceded in death by his mom, Nancy, his wife, Brittany, and father-in-law, Jerry.

A celebration of Jared’s life will be held on Saturday November 18th at 2pm. The location is 2811 S 6400 W, West Valley City, Utah 84128. Casual dress is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, Jared has asked to send any contributions to the benefit of Jared and Brittany’s son Kaden at Venmo @hanson-kaden
