Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of our dear, sweet wife, mother, family member and friend Janet, age 50, on December 4, 2021.
Janet was one of a kind! She loved to laugh, was caring to a fault and always rooted for the underdog. She met life’s many challenges head-on, still thinking of others while dealing with her own struggles. She loved nature, animals, and taking pictures, documenting many happy memories both big and small.
Janet was eagerly anticipated and born on August 2nd, 1971 to her dear parents Gordon Lee and Carolyn Ferguson, joining her big sister Gaylene. She was raised in Rose Park where she had many friends. She was originally named Leanna Mae, but when blessed, her dad pulled a surprise move and gave her the name Janet! It was especially startling to her mother!
She met her life-long sweetheart, Henry when he was 16 and she was 14. They married on September 6th, 1996 and had two children together, Randy and McKenna. Randy’s birth at a young age helped her learn to be responsible and she loved and nurtured him with all of her heart. They grew up together and she was very proud of his accomplishments. McKenna’s birth was also eagerly anticipated. When her health problems became evident early on, Janet, Henry, and Randy rose to the challenge and cared for her with great tenderness and devotion.
Janet was the ultimate nurse! She earned her BSN from Westminster College in May 1996, graduating magna cum laude. She was smart, intuitive, and tireless in the care of her patients. Her knowledge and skills were also a blessing to her family and friends as she helped many of them navigate through very complicated medical issues.
Janet loved her family very much! She loved traveling to St George and Moab with them and was always up for a road trip. She had fun at family gatherings and could be counted on to be the life of any party. We will miss her hugs, her laugh, and her many smiles!
She leaves behind her loving husband Henry, her favorite son Randall Ferguson (Emily) and her beautiful daughter McKenna. Many friends and adopted family members also mourn her passing, along with her extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents Gordon “Lee” and Carolyn Hawkins Ferguson, and her sister Gaylene Chapman. We are confident they are having a glorious reunion!
Janet struggled with many health issues during her life and we are grateful she is finally free of pain. As her loved ones, we would like to thank the many friends, neighbors and health care professionals that have watched over and cared for Janet and her family. Thank you and may you all be blessed for your kindness and loving care!
A memorial service will be Saturday December 18, 2021 at the Copperhills 4th Ward at 6710 West 4145 South, WVC, UT, 84128. There will be a family greeting from 9:30-10:45 with the service at 11:00.

Recently She had become like a second mom to me as I turned to her for advice she dropped everything to listen and comfort me. I will miss her deeply.
Janet, beamed sunshine in this world. A beautiful delight to spend time with! Your smile, your laughter and your love of your family always made me want to be a better person! Love and peace to your sweet Henry, Randy and McKenna. I will miss you!
I am so sad to hear of Janet’s passing. Janet was such a fun person to work with, she was so kind and gentle with her patients and their families. She would always make use laugh and giggle even on the most stressful days. Janet you will be missed
I didn't know Janet but l knew Henry. He always talked so lovingly about her and his children. I'm so sorry to hear this, and pray Heavenly Father will comfort them, especially through the Holiday Season and in the years to come.
One of my nieces I never had the pleasure to meet. But I kind of knew her from communicating with My Nephew Lee.
I am sorry to hear of Janet’s passing. She was always such a kind and beautiful person to be around. Our hearts and prayers are with your family during this prayerful time.
