Janelle was a woman of many talents and deep compassion. A natural-born creative, she had a gift for writing and a keen artistic eye that she expressed in countless forms throughout her life. In her younger years, she pursued modeling, embracing both elegance and confidence. Later, her strength and resolve led her to serve as a correctional officer in Oregon, where she made a lasting impact with her dedication and sense of justice.

Above all, Janelle’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was the mother of six children: Kristine Fulcher, Richard Taylor, Charline Martinez, James (Keesha) Calloway, Jeanine Sparkman, and Holly-Jane Chogyoji. She was also a proud grandmother of eleven beloved grandchildren—with another on the way.

Janelle is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Dean Shaver and Johnny Bass, and her sister Geri Bass

Those who knew Janelle will remember her for her radiant spirit, unwavering love, and creative soul. She had a unique ability to make others feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Thursday, May 22nd, at Dee-Sports Park, 1375 Park Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are warmly welcome to come and pay their respects.
