James L Prescott, age 86, passed away on February 21, 2021 in Riverton, Utah.

He was born on December 8, 1934 in Francis, Utah, to John Walter Prescott and Emily Leone Louder. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He married Ruby Earlene Giles on October 10, 1953. They were sweethearts for 67 years.

Loving father of Vickie (Tom), Jill (Frank), Cheri (Kim), Susan (Roger), Stacey (Kari), Jeff (Shauna), and Jamie (Garth), 25 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Ned, Donna, Mark, Vida, Keith and LaRae, and grandson Mitchell James, great grandchildren Tjaden, Kalena, and Ruby.

His greatest love was spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed numerous fishing, hunting and camping trips with his family. Jim was known fondly by family and friends as Crow. A nickname given to him by his brothers. His posterity is proudly known as the Crow Clan.

He was an amazing handyman. There was nothing he could not fix or repair. He will always be remembered for his competitive spirit. He loved playing cards and he hated to lose!

He was a dedicated employee, retiring from Safeway after 43 years of employment.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Our beloved Crow has flown home.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will be held by invitation only. The funeral service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend, please see below of how to join the services. The Funeral Service will be begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday 2/25/2021.

Following Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a live streaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
