James Victor Marshall

Aug 8, 1950 Oct 16, 2023

Washington, Utah – James Victor Marshall, 73, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at home after a long valiant battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1950, in Orem, Utah to Joseph Robert & Colleen Meeks Marshall. He was married to Angela Mollenkopf Lilly Marshall, September 5,1997. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS temple.

Jim lived in Orem, Utah, for the first 18 years of his life. He loved camping, hiking, and cruising State Street with his friends. He played trombone in the high school and college band, and loved music all of his life. Jim was known for keeping his friends on the straight and narrow but was always ready to take risks.

After graduating from Orem High School, Jim moved to St. George, Utah to attend Dixie College where he met his sweetheart. After graduating as a “DIXIE COLLEGE REBEL” Jim returned to Orem and started his electronics career. Jim worked in retail and business Management all of his career. Many years were spent with Fred Meyer where he advanced to upper management. He later started Tasteful Trends Interiors with Angie. With his “left brained” management skills and Angie's “right brained” design talent, they were able to create a successful interior design business. Working together was enjoyable for them.

Jim was willing to serve in various church callings. His longest calling, which he served under three bishops, was ward clerk. He also excelled at creating the best ward programs and loved his home teaching families.

His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson, geocaching, and operating ham radio as he volunteered for many marathons and races throughout Utah. He enjoyed traveling and was able to see everything around the world that he desired....except the Northern Lights. We hope he is now able to catch a glimpse of them!

Jim had the biggest heart, was fun loving, and always there for friends and family. He was especially willing to care for his mother and his wife. He loved being a stepfather to Gerald and Dustin. He enjoyed flying with Gerald and watching Dustin play and coach baseball, along with watching both of them rodeo. Jim will always be remembered as the Disneyland Grandpa by his sweet grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Angie of Washington, Utah; stepsons Gerald (Cydney)

Holt of St. George, Utah, and Dustin (Whitnee) Holt of Washington, Utah; grandchildren, Tanis, Hadley, Tayslie, Rex, Talease, Tynlee & Temery; sisters Cheri Sunset Buckner of Provo, Utah, Cindy Dickinson of Springville, Utah; brother Bill (Julie) Marshall of Libby, Montana. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joleen Marshall, parents Joseph Robert and Colleen Meeks Marshall, and in-laws Rex and Phyllis Dozier Lilly.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 am located at the Washington Fields 19th ward Log Lane Chapel, 115 West 2000 South, Washington, Utah.
