James (Jim) Albert Gamber

May 23, 1956 Jan 26, 2024

It's with heavy heart we announce the passing of our dear friend, father, husband, and cousin James (Jim) Albert Gamber, 67, of St. George, Utah on January 26, 2024.

Jim loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed building and shooting various types of guns. Jim was a great machinist and could fix any problem with guns and build them from scratch.

He loved living in the St. George area, leaving behind the snow and cold of Northern Utah.

Jim loved his dachshunds, Maggie & Snickers. They were just like his babies, and he loved spoiling them rotten.

Jim worked at various jobs like Ace Hardware and Poor Richard's. This is where he met his future wife, Devra Webb. They were married for 38 years and had one child, a daughter, Reyannon.

Jim was also fascinated with the Chinese/Japanese culture and martial arts. He had also turned his garage into his man cave where he enjoyed many hours talking with his great friends.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Devra, and one week old granddaughter, Tucker Brooksby, his parents, LeRoy and Norma Gamber of Washington County, brother, Marchello and his wife, Terri Gamber of Tooele, Utah, and his in-laws Richard and Devora Webb, of Milton, Utah.

James is survived by his daughter, Reyannon (Trevor) Brooksby of Dutch John, Utah, and grandchildren Bailey and Lorum Brooksby, sister, Suzie (Skip) Hinger of Tucson, Arizona, nieces, Dana and Erica Hinger, nephews, Michael (Paula) Gamber, and PJ & (Rhiannon) Gamber from Texas, Adam (Amber) Gamber of Tooele, Utah, close friend Cherl McMahon of Tooele, Utah, as well as many friends who have reached out during his failing health.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary. 435-673-2454.

Friends and family are invited to sign Jim’s online guest book at www.spilsburymortuary.com
