James "Jim" Heber Chapman

Nov 27, 1935 Feb 16, 2022

Jim, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15th 2022, while at his home in St. George, Utah. He had been battling diabetes and kidney failure for many months. We are so grateful for the loving care that his wife of 7 years, Ursula, gave to him during a difficult time.

When asked what he would tell his younger self he said, “Set goals and work to achieve them, be honest with yourself, study the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon, which I love), gain a firm testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and never deviate from your vows.”

Set goals, be honest with yourself, study the Book of Mormon, never deviate from your vows.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ursula Anderson; 6 children from his previous marriage to Joann: Ronald (Linda), Steven, Tammy (Brad), Crystal (Joe) , Donald, and Jamie (Jason); 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 siblings, daughter-in-law (Gaylene) and 3 grandchildren (Benjamin, AnnaLisa and Christopher).

A viewing will be held Thursday, 24 February 2022, from 6 to 8 pm. Another viewing will beheld on Friday, 25 February 2022, from 10 – 11 am with a funeral service to follow at 11 am. All services will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123.
