James Arthur Bruner “Jim” passed away on Sunday March 24, 2024, at the age of 79 surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Salt Lake City on June 9, 1944. Jim was the son of James Arthur Bruner and Marion McCullough Bruner. Jim is survived by his wife Veneda of 38 years, his daughter Jennifer (John) Quarry, grandchildren Morgan and Carson and his great niece Whitney and Sebastian; brother Art (Lorie) Millcreek; Jean (Fred) West Jordan along with many nieces and nephews. Jim’s hobby was work, he never sat still. Jim loved to work with his younger brother, Art, and loved their scrap yard Standard Iron and Metal. This is where he earned the name “Licensed Junk Dealer” for 58 years.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, horses, and the mountains. He cherished his property in Holden, Utah where he spent timeless hours perfecting his property. Veneda and Jim loved to travel and looked forward to their February vacation visiting relatives. Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He loved life. He will be dearly missed for his stories and his brass horse collecting.
Preceded in death by his parents, Brother Jack and two half-brothers Dennis and Gary.
Services will be held Monday April 1, 2024, at Larkin Mortuary 260 E. South Temple, SLC, UT 84111. Viewing 9:30am- 10:45am, services at 11:00am. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
