Salt Lake City, Utah - James Comet Barrus, Junior, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 3rd, 2021, in West Valley City, Utah.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather was born on September 15th, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Comet Barrus, Senior, and Helen Burton Barrus. A life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, where he met the love of his life, Donna Allen. They were married February 1, 1952, in the Salt Lake City Temple. A member of the Air Force, he served in the Korean War in a posting on San Clemente Island. He was a proud Sea Scout and Eagle Scout, taught at Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute, and enjoyed gold mining, genealogy, and Church history.

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna, his three daughters, Judy (Brent), Jeanne (David), and Janet (Chris), nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jay Barrus.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on June 16, 2021 at 3963 Peachwood Dr, West Valley City. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 PM at Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
