J. Tom Martinez

Mar 25, 1940 Jan 24, 2022

My beloved and devoted husband, Tom Martinez, passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on January 24, 2022.

He was born in Dixon, New Mexico on March 25, 1940, to Mary Lopez and Jose Martinez. His grandfather moved the family to Ogden, Utah where he graduated from Ogden High School in 1959. Tom enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA. Upon discharge, he moved back to Ogden and found work at Thiokol Chemical in the Printing Department.

He mastered the industry and was offered a management position in a Salt Lake City printing company. He became a partner and flourished as a sales representative. Tom’s clients were always assured excellent results.

We purchased Printing Impressions in Salt Lake City and he continued to take pride in providing his special expertise and customer service. When we retired, we moved to Mesa, Arizona. Tom pursued a career in Real Estate and was very successful. We moved back to Utah and settled in Pleasant Grove. He took pride in his gardens and yards.

We enjoyed camping, golfing, and fishing. We traveled the country and the world. Tom was an avid Basketball and Football fan. We attended All-Star Games and Super Bowls. Many people will fondly recall the golf tournaments he chaired through the years.

He is survived by: his wife, Pam; daughters Gina (Richard) and Randi; granddaughter Adriane and her son Axell; granddaughter Tamika and her daughter Cherelle; sons Tom (Pam), Tim (Stacey), Vincent (Stephanie); sister Addie (Carol), brother Louie (Delores); godson Jerry (Cristina) Silva, and goddaughter Dani (Paul) Silva.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, brother Daniel, and daughter Lorraine.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Anna’s Greek Orthodox Church 9201 South 1300 East, Sandy, UT 84094. Interment will follow immediately at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
