Izabel "Izzy" Walters Linda

Mar 22, 2011 Feb 9, 2024

Izabel “Izzy” Linda Walters, a spirited 12-year-old from Tooele, Utah, departed this world on February 9th, 2024. Born on March 22, 2011, to her parents Jack and Nicole Walters, Izzy held a special place in her family’s heart as the youngest member. Her deep green eyes and unmistakable blonde curls were only surpassed by her radiant personality.

Izzy spent her formative years in Tooele, Utah, where she attended 7th grade at Tooele Junior High. Her journey was marked by meaningful connections with her friends and classmates, starting in her dual immersion Portuguese class that began in 1st grade. These cherished friendships remained close to her heart until her final moments.

Izzy’s passions were as vibrant as her personality. She adored all animals, especially HER BOY, Kee Kee, the cat. She had an affinity for crushed ice, Coca-Cola, Chick-Fil-A, Hershey’s chocolate, and Takis. Skip Bo, Puzzles, and friendship bracelets filled her leisure hours. The Simpsons and SpongeBob were her most enjoyed TV shows and who could forget her special bond with Shrek, her first “boyfriend.”

She loved to whip up pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and banana nut cake alongside her grandma, even mastering the pumpkin cookie recipe on her own when grandma wasn’t available. She was a picky eater and enjoyed her mom’s homemade mashed potatoes, artichokes, and chicken fried rice.

Fearless and full of zest, Izzy hit the slopes as an avid snowboarder, often accompanied by her mom and brother, Riley. She was a daddy’s girl and reveled in roughhousing with him most nights. He lovingly built her an e-bike and they would often adventure through the streets of their neighborhood. Together, they also grew snap peas and frequently ate them together off the vine.

Izzy’s individuality shone brightly, with a personal style influenced by her big brother, Riley. Cartwheels were her signature move, once even granting her family VIP entrance to the SLC Arts Festival, where they mistook her for part of the talent.

Her short but impactful life included countless adventures. From Hawaii to San Diego, Sun Valley to Oregon, Seattle to San Antonio, she traveled far and wide. The ocean held a special place in her heart, where she played in the sand and swam like a fish.

In a moment of distress, a decision made in haste, Izzy passed by her hand, and we’ll miss her forever. Izzy was an organ donor, and her passing will provide the gift of new beginnings for many.

Izzy is survived by her loving parents, Nicole and Jack Walters, her grandparents: Brenda Livingston (Blaine), Mike Walters (Kandy), Dan Holland (Dene’), and Bruce Bolinder (Carolya). She is also survived by her four siblings: Riley Scharmann, Baylee Scharmann, Lexie Walters, and Jocelyn Walters (Rhett Kendell). She is preceded in death by her aunt Haley Walters, grandmother, Linda Bolinder, her great grammie, Betty Rodgers, and great-grandfather, Glen Bolinder. Additionally, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable friends who loved her dearly mourn her loss.

A celebration of Izzy’s life will be held 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Tate Mortuary at 110 S. Main St., Tooele, UT. A visitation will be held just prior from 10:30 AM-11:45 AM.
