Howard Murray Avison, an expert mechanic and "Mr. Fix It," passed away on December 23, 2023, in Taylorsville, Utah. Born on February 7, 1933, in Victoria Square, Ontario, Canada, Howard's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and loyalty to family and church.

Howard's career as a mechanic spanned several decades, during which he honed his skills and became well recognized for his expertise. He had an innate ability to diagnose and repair even the most complex mechanical issues with ease. People sought Howard's help because they knew that when it came to fixing things, he was simply the best.

When he wasn't busy tinkering under car hoods or troubleshooting engines, you would often find him indulging in his hobbies. Howard's personal interests included snowmobiling, motorcycles, camping and traveling with the family. He also enjoyed following NASCAR racing. He devoted many years to his callings as ward and stake clerks.

On January 3, 2024, family and friends will gather to pay their respects during the viewing held at Hyland Lake Ward, 981 S Revere Cir, Salt Lake City, starting at noon. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel at the same location.

Howard was deeply devoted to his late wife, Anne Avison. Their journey together consisted of unbreakable bonds of love and shared experiences that fortified their family ties. The untimely loss of their infant daughter Kim Marie left an indelible mark on their hearts and served as a testament to their resilience throughout life's trials.

Among those who mourn his passing are Howard's surviving family members and friends. His brothers, Don Avison and Ewart Avison, his sister Shirley Mann, and sister Sheron Ward will forever cherish their memories of Howard. Additionally, his daughter Debbie Fuller and son-in-law Lawrence Fuller, son Murray Avison and daughter-in-law Katherine Avison, daughter Heather Kaefer and son-in-law Robert Kaefer, and son Wayne Avison and daughter-in-law Missy Avison were blessed to have him as a loving father. Howard's legacy also lives on through his 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who hold dear the lessons he imparted upon them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
