Homer Lewis 1940-2022
Homer Scott Lewis passed away on March 3, 2022, in his home in Sandy, Utah. He was born on July 25, 1940, to Scott Alan Lewis and Lucinda Lewis.
Homer grew up in Kamas, Utah where he graduated from South Summit High. Homer then attended Brigham Young University and University of Phoenix. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Great Lakes Mission. Following that he enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed at a San Francisco army base.
While attending college Homer met Judy Beck. Homer and Judy were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 20, 1970. A few years later they purchased a home in Sandy, Utah and lived in the same home until his passing.
Homer was a hardworking and dedicated man, who put his family and faith first. He worked as an accountant for many years. Before retiring he worked at Aetna Health Care for 15 years. Homer served as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River and Draper temples for many years. He taught us the importance of work by helping us with our paper route for close to 15 years. He also served two church service missions with Judy. Their missions were with the addiction recovery program and a member and leader services mission.
Homer loved Judy’s cooking. One of his favorites was her delicious spaghetti sauce. He enjoyed going to the health studio, flowers, sweets, and watching Korean dramas with Judy and their (KDC-Korean drama club) friends.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents Homer Scott Lewis and Lucinda Lewis, his wife Judy Beck Lewis, his sister Claudia Heywood, and daughter-in-law Tiffany Horne Lewis. He is survived by his children Laura (Armando) Delgado, Don Carlos Lewis, Anthony Lee Lewis (Brandi), Margaret (Brian) McEwan, Jonathan Homer Lewis (Terumi), Anna (Nefi) Munoz, and Tsuji Kyoko. Homer and Judy have 23 grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 11 from 10:00-10:45am. His funeral service will be held on the same day at 11:00am at the Edgemont Ward at 9824 S. Flint Drive, Sandy, Utah. Internment will be held at the Memorial Holladay Cemetery at 4900 S. Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
