Hendrik “Henk” Vredeveld passed away at the age of 79 on December 31, 2022, in West Valley City, Utah at his home. He was born on April 28, 1943, to Hendrik Vredeveld and Gerritje de Voer in Almelo, Netherlands.
Henk liked electronics, tinkering, and gadgets of all kinds. He enjoyed classic country music, playing the guitar and keyboard, and was skilled in photography and photo development. His career as a building engineer included work at the Kearns Skating Oval during the SLC 2002 Winter Olympics which made him very proud. He was happily retired since 2008.
Henk is survived by his sons: Richard (Roxanne) and Jonathon, daughters: Jennifer (Wendell) and Michelle, and his grandchildren John, Steve, Madi, Adam, and Sami. Also 3 step granddaughters, 7 step great-grandchildren, and 5 step great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son David (Cathleen), his granddaughter Lisa Marie, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and both parents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A graveside service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the same location.
