Gloria Gayle (Backus) Simonds passed away at the age of 84 in Sandy, UT. She was born on December 10th 1937 in Salt Lake City to Leonard T. Backus and Thelma O. Backus. She spent most of her life in the Salt Lake Valley before moving to Heber City then to Mount Pleasant Utah.

She loved doing knitting, crocheting, quilting and embroidering. She made many beautiful gifts for friends and family.

She married Robert Clift and together they had 3 children. They later divorced and she married Clayton Simonds.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her oldest sister Connie and her beloved husband Clayton.

She is survived by her 3 children Robert Jay Clift (Cathy), Lori Gayle Petersen (Jeff) and Johnna Schuler. 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson. Her sister Carolee Skinner (Barry) and Brent Backus (Della).

Graveside services will be held at Redwood Memorial on Sept 24th at 11:00 am.
