Glenn Ronald Peterson, 86, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 5, 2023.

Glenn was born November 16, 1936, in Ogden, Utah to Philo and Grace Peterson. Glenn was the second child of 10, four boys and six girls. Glenn attended Ogden High School. Then later attended Utah State on a baseball scholarship, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in business.

Glenn married and was sealed in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple to Ora Kaye Choules February 19, 1959. Glenn and Kaye were blessed with four children, Brad, Jordan, Julie, and Angie. Glenn was always strong in his LDS faith. He was able to serve in numerous callings, including as a bishop and after retirement served two missions with Kaye in Salt Lake City and St George.

After graduating from Utah State, Glenn worked for several years for Sperry Rand. He then moved on to Idaho Bingham Mechanical, where he eventually became a part owner in the company. He also worked in the Administration Offices of the Bonneville School District. He and Kaye also purchased the Mother Hibbard’s Convenience store in Rexburg, Idaho that they successfully ran together for 9 years.

After retirement, Glenn lived out his dream of fishing, hunting, golfing, and training bird dogs. One of his absolute joys was owning and showing his prized Arabian horses.

After serving one of their missions in St George, Glenn and Kaye moved there in 2013. In 2016 after 57 years of marriage Kaye passed away.

In March of 2019 he married Betty Harla. Glenn and Betty enjoyed exploring the desert in Glenn’s side-by-side, golfing, attending concerts and playing cards with friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Kaye; his son Jordan; Sister’s Maureen, Lynette and Sister in law Joann and brothers Phil and Ralph. One grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife Betty. Children; Brad (Linda) Peterson, Julie (Justin) Sorensen, Angie (Matt) Phillips and daughter in law Angela Wilhoit Peterson. His siblings Paul, Ellie, Carol, Lana, and Diane. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2023, 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington Fields, 7th Ward, 1295 S. 3000 E., Washington, Utah. 84780.

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, November 9, 2023, 11:00 am at the same location with interment in the Washington City Cemetery.
