Gene Alles peacefully passed away on October 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 13, 1938, in Billings, Montana, and spent his early years on his grandparents farm near the Yellowstone River. Gene cherished his time on the farm and had a deep affection for his grandparents.

Later, he moved to Tracy, California, where his lifelong love for cars began to flourish. Gene possessed an extensive knowledge of different car models, motor types, and production years. Working on engines became one of his passions, and his children have fond memories of him bent over a boat engine or working on a 1965 Chevy for his youngest son.

After graduating from high school, Gene relocated to Salt Lake City, where he resided for the rest of his life. He attended and graduated from the University of Utah while embarking on a successful career in sales, specializing in large power supplies. Eventually, he established his own company and worked alongside his sons until retirement. Gene's travels throughout the Western United States allowed him to become well-versed in finding the cheapest gas or the quickest route to various destinations.

At the University of Utah, Gene met his beloved wife, Tamra Le Willmore. Together, they were blessed with five healthy and energetic children. Sadly, Tammy passed away in 2011. In 2013, Gene found love again and married Linda Richmond, who survives him.

Our dad was a devoted provider for his family, and his dedication allowed his descendants to enjoy cherished activities such as boating, snowmobiling, skiing, and other outdoor pursuits that he made possible for them.

Sports held a special place in Gene's heart, and some of his happiest moments were spent watching his boys play. He never missed a game, often attending Friday night matches and then driving through the night to be present at Saturday morning games for his other sons. Gene instilled a love for sports in his family, and throughout his life, he could be found avidly watching ball games.

He had a passion for travel and enjoyed the company of Tammy, Linda, and his friends during their adventures. Gene loved sharing stories about the experiences he had in different countries and the diverse cultures he encountered.

Throughout his lifetime, Gene had a thirst for knowledge. He could be found at the library every week, checking out books that he would eagerly read and return within the week.

Gene cherished lifelong friendships with his high school buddies, Glen and Frank. The stories and bond they shared were a testament to the special relationship he held dear throughout his entire life.

Dad was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was baptized and later sealed for time and all eternity with his family.

He is survived by his wife Linda, his children Todd (Polly), Tauni (Kurt), Tom (Jill), Tim (Molley), and TJ (Mandy). Gene leaves behind several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.

Graveside services were held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Larkin Memorial, followed by interment.
