Gary Blaine Riddle, a devoted father, husband, and successful businessman passed away peacefully on Friday December 29, 2023. Born June 21, 1934, in Tetonia, a town near Driggs, Idaho to his loving parents Thomas Lester Riddle and Florence King Riddle.

As the youngest child of 10 Gary spent his youth playing in nearby fields, tending chickens, riding horses, and being adored. At the age of 8 years old, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gary then attended Columbus Elementary, Irving Jr. High, and South High School.

Following a year in the National Guard, Gary served a nearly 3-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweden. Following in the tradition of his ancestors he embraced the people of Sweden their culture, food, and language. He developed a deep love for the people he served. Nadine and he kept close connections with the people from his mission and later hosted several Swedish mission reunions at their home and ranch, in Heber, Utah.

Working side by side his father it taught him many trades including buying and selling, budgeting and practical accounting, and the basics of running a business, in this case, a Service station. Later he worked with his brother Dean and learned the Real Estate trade and was very successful all through his many business ventures utilizing real estate interests to further his career.

As a youth and young adult Gary excelled in woodworking, writing, singing, track, and entrepreneurship. He attended the University of Utah to then later transfer to BYU where he pursued his passion of business by earning a BA degree in banking and finance.

On August 31st, 1962, Gary married Nadine Alleman in the Manti temple. They had 6 children. Together Nadine and Gary served an LDS mission in the Texas Corpus Christi-McCallan mission.

Throughout his life, Gary enjoyed serving in the church, especially in Sunday School. He also served as Elder’s Quorum President and High Priest Group Leader. Whether it was the famous penny flying object lesson taught to the youth or his lesson about faith and works in Gospel Doctrine, he shared powerful messages of faith and testimony of Jesus Christ and The Plan of Salvation.

Gary is survived by his cherished wife Nadine, children Nanette (Thomas) Kearl, Natalie (Matthew) White, Nalisa (Paul) Dunford, Nicole (Ron) Hilton, Natasha (Jeff) Udy, and Grant (Megan) Riddle. They have 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a total posterity of 56.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at The Monument Park Ward 1005 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, Utah. The funeral services will be held Friday, January 5th at The Monument Park Ward Chapel, 1005 South 2000 East, at noon with a viewing at 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Graveside Dedication will take place after the funeral at Larkin Sunset Lawn.
