He was born on 11/20/1934 in Ogden, Utah to Edward Keith and Hortense Cutler Loosli.

He married his amazing wife, Patricia Ellen Wixom in the Salt Lake City Temple on 11/14/1958.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a faithful full-time mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After he retired, he also served a senior mission with his loving companion, Patricia in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Salt Lake City LDS Employment Center. He loved serving in the church and held many different callings that he always found fulfilling.

Garth had a love of music and enjoyed singing in the ward choir, singing, and listening to music. He loved to whistle, and you could always tell when he was coming by his whistling. Garth liked to ride motorcycles and had 13 at one time.

Garth worked as a computer programmer for the State Board of Education and pioneered many programs that school districts used throughout the State. He also worked at the downtown Salt Lake City Library, which seemed a natural fit as he had a love of reading as well.

Our family would like to thank the incredible staff at Aspen Ridge Rehab Center in Murray and Truwood Senior living Center in Cottonwood Heights for the care they gave to him at the end of his life.

Garth is survived by two siblings, Mark Loosli (Linda) and Linda Smith (Duane), daughter; Kelly Loosli Williams. Sons; Kirk W. Loosli and Keith W. Loosli (Allison), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ellen Wixom Loosli, his parents, his mother and father in-law, three siblings, Darlene Dangerfield, Marsha LaBarge, Ted Loosli, and two of his sons: Kenneth W. Loosli and Kip W. Loosli.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery located at: 3115 E 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. Viewing will start at 12:30 pm, followed by the funeral at the same location at 2:00 pm and the burial at 3:00 pm.

The family invites close family and friend to adjourn the services for a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center located at 1250 West Atherton Drive, Taylorsville, Utah.

Guestbook

Dear Garth Loosli family,

Garth is a super person and cousin. Even though he was a bit older than me, our family was always very close with Uncle Keith and Tense’s family. Love to you all and I think he is having a wonderful reunion with his wife, sons, and parents. Fond memories. 🥰❤️
