Flora Mae Allen

Flora Mae Allen, age 90, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away at Charles County Regional Medical Center, LaPlata, MD.

She was born March 14, 1931 to David & Eva Ransom in Shelley, Idaho. The family moved to Salt Lake City where she graduated from West High School in 1948.

She married George Hamilton Allen on February 18, 1950 in Elko, Nevada. She first worked for a while as a library assistant at West High School. After which she took a job as an office clerk for Wells Fargo Bank. She was artistic and loved to paint ceramics. She joined her husband in trapshooting which allowed them to travel around in their 5th wheel. After retirement, she continued to travel. They visited Mexico, Singapore and Australia.

She was a Shoshone Indian member whose name was “Lone Feather.”

Preceded in death by her father, mother, two sisters, Shirley and Stella, husband George and daughter Cindy. She is survived by her son Gary Lee Allen and daughter-in-law Candace of Accokeek, MD.

God called her home on April 23, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah on Aug. 28 at 2 pm.
