1929 - 2022

Fern passed away peacefully February 19, 2022. Fern was born in Kamas, Utah on January 27, 1929 to Daniel Denis Lewis and Harriet Vernettie Williams. Fern was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all. Fern married Closs L Stewart on November 3, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children. Fern was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings. Fern served a mission with her husband in the Canada Calgary Mission in 1987-88 and met a lot of wonderful people and made a lot of great friends. Fern loved people and was always willing to help. You could always find her serving someone in one way or another. Fern was very fun and outspoken. You knew how she felt because she would tell you. Fern enjoyed to sew and loved making quilts with Closs. Fern absolutely loved going to the cabin and playing games with family and friends.

The family would like to thank all the people at Legacy House of South Jordan and Aspire Home Health and Hospice for all the love and care they gave mom.

I always felt close to your mom's family because our mothers were sisters and good friends. Fern and Closs would stop by our home in St. George on occasions when they were either going or coming back from their home in Beaver Dam. She and Closs would often stop by my parents, Curt and Lucille Lewis in Kamas as they were on their way to their Weber Canyon Cabin. Fern was always friendly and fun to be around. What a special person, she will be missed.
