Fabrice Wunaki

Feb 3, 1981 Apr 25, 2024

We will always carry your memory in our hearts. Wrapped in the warmth of shared memories, we come to celebrate the vibrant tapestry of a life lived with zest and an abundance of joy.

Fabrice Wunaki, our Papi Fresko, also known in good spirits as Katumba, embarked on an unexpected journey to the stars on April 25, 2024. Though he was a sprightly 43, we believe he's now on a different vacation in the celestial realms of Peru, exploring the heavens with the same adventurous spirit he carried here on Earth.

On a sunny day in Lome, Togo, 1981, the world was gifted with Fabrice. Born to Gerard and Martine, he completed the family puzzle as the cherished youngest of four. His thirst for knowledge led him to the IPMC College of Technology in Accra, Ghana, and in pursuit of the American dream, he voyaged to the U.S., landing with hope in his heart.

Utah welcomed Fabrice with open arms, where he adorned many hats, juggled jobs, and continued his quest for education. In 2010, he celebrated a milestone, donning the cap and graduating from Salt Lake Community College with a degree in political science and government.

Along the lanes of life in Salt Lake City, he met his heart's echo, Roxana. Together they weaved a family filled with love.

As a father, Fabrice showered his family with love as vast as the oceans he loved to sail across. He was the heart of the family, teaching by example that the simplest pleasures, a savory meal, a football game, or a beat to sway to were the essence of a life well-lived.

Our Papi Fresko blessed the world of Oral Care with his talents at Ultradent for a decade before donning the entrepreneurial hat, passionate in crafting his own success story. Despite leaving us too soon, he leaves behind a legacy of embracing life's dance even if his moves occasionally defied rhythm and reason.

Before him, some of our stars had returned to the skies, his beloved grandparents, uncles, his guiding light mother, and other dear relatives. They now share in the duty of watching over us, as Fabrice joins them in their celestial abode.

Here, he leaves a mosaic of lives touched by Roxana and their children, his guiding father, his two brothers, a sister, playful nephews, adorable nieces, caring uncles, aunts, mother-in-law and sisters-in-law all wrapped in the collective embrace of close friends. Our constellation remains aglow, each of us a living tribute to the love and light Fabrice shared.

In his parting, let's not say goodbye. Rather, let's vow to carry on his infectious joie de vivre, allowing his spirit to guide our own steps be they on the dance floor or the roads we traverse. May we dance, love, and live as wholeheartedly as Fabrice taught us.

It's not an end, it's a samba into the sunset, and Fabrice, our beloved, is leading the way with a dance step so uniquely and wonderfully his own. Let's clap to the rhythm he’s left in our hearts, a rhythm that will resonate today, tomorrow, and in all the moments we find ourselves missing him the most.

Here's to Fabrice our anchor, our North Star, our Papi Fresko, the melody of his life ever present in the music of our memories.
