Ester Mary Makaui

Magna, Utah -

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ester Mary Makaui on May 18, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend.

Ester was happily married to the love of her life Kisina Makaui. They were married on March 22, 1986. Together they raised 11 amazing children. Ester also adopted a few cats that became her companions whom she also loved and cared for. Her heart had no boundaries when it came to providing for her family.

Ester lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity. She was a devoted wife and her family was always at the center of her heart and was welcoming of everyone. She also enjoyed taking pictures as she believed that pictures were a way to preserve moments that would one day become part of family history. She also liked the fact that she could see anyones face when she needed to reflect. She loved to see the happy faces of all those whom she cared for. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.

Ester is survived by her husband of 43 years, Kisina Makaui, her sons Santino, Jessie, Lamar (Cristina), Peter (Seanta). Her daughters Stephanie, Letisia (Benito), Kaloni (Cody), Ofa, Anna (Josue). Siblings and the many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents: Carlotta Sotelo and Jesus Galvan Gonzales, her sons Tito, and Kisina Jr, her daughter in law Stormy, and her brother Freddie.

Funeral Services for Ester will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6-8pm at: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3151 S 7700 West Magna, UT 84044. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
