It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emery Gigger, 67, of Downingtown, PA on December 21, 2021, the darkest day of this year. Emery was a much-loved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, colleague, and friend. He will be truly missed in so many ways.

Emery was born May 6,1954 in Pocatello, Idaho to Ida Lyons Gigger and the late Charles Gigger. He grew up as part of a large, close-knit family. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Highland High School in 1973. He thrived at Brigham Young University and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science. Emery was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated his life to the service of his fellow man. He served a 2-year mission to Scotland (1973-75) for the LDS church, which he talked about fondly.

Emery married his college sweetheart, Marbi Buell in 1983 and together they had four children (Tiffany, Kent, Laura and Emma). Emery was devoted to his family. He lived for them and did everything he could to make sure they felt loved and supported.

Emery took pride in working hard at everything he did - from his 22-year career with AstraZeneca, to maintaining a beautiful yard, to his care and attention to detail in folding laundry.

Emery enjoyed BYU sports, telling stories, getting inspiration from HGTV, working in his yard, eating a warm sandwich and spoiling his cat and his grandkids. He never had enough fine china, Hallmark pop-up cards, national geographic magazines or survival tools. Emery was a wonderful man with many talents, quirks and unique ways. Many will feel the loss of his passing.

Emery and I worked together at AstraZeneca for many years and I just heard of his sudden passing. I so much enjoyed working with Emery and we fondly discussed our children and their progress in life. He is GREATLY MISSED by all.

I went to school with Emery. He was always such a gentleman. He had the best smile. Rest well my friend.

My sincere condolences. I hope that with time grief will be replaced by comforting and happy memories of Emery. He was a kind, patient and gentle man. I am fortunate to have worked with him at AstraZeneca.
