Elva “Marie” Mitchell

Our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother gained her angel wings and flew home on October 4, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

Marie was born on April 16, 1928 to Jesse James and Blanche Stone in Arcadia, Nebraska. She loved deeply, unconditionally and with her whole heart. She didn’t care where you came from, who you were or what you did, she opened her heart and saw the good in all. She impacted many lives and left her imprint on all the hearts she touched. She had a smile that could light up the darkest of places and a heart made of pure gold. She was the most giving, loving and compassionate person.

Her greatest love in life was that of her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren. She had a special and unique bond with each and everyone of them and was so proud of them all. She was at her happiest when she was with her Grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

When she wasn’t sharing some of her greatest life stories and memories, you could catch her cooking up something amazing in the kitchen or watching her favorite game shows. She had a love for life and enjoyed the simpler things in life as long as she was surrounded by those she loved deeply.

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (LaVee) Marlar, Linda (Curtis) Watkins, Patricia (Bud) Sears.

Grandchildren: Scott Nordberg, Aleisha (Darrell) Pelc, Tammy (Jared) Cardon, Kendall (Brenda) Marlar, Dana (Daniel) Long, Jacinda (Brad) Smith, Dione (Bert) Goodall.

Great Grandchildren: Morgan (Tyson), Megan (Luis), Mashayla (Marcelo), Alex, Maikai, Keyton, Morghan, Braydon (Hailey), Brooklynn (River), Randirae, Riley (Cecilia), Macquinci, Tyler, Samatha, Karissa

Great Great Grandchildren: Paxton, Emily, Cohlston, Sophia, Sycilia, Sebastian, Aaliyah, Mariah, Abigail, Elizabeth, Acelynn, Alyvia, Preston. And three new great greats on the way.

She is preceded in death by: Charles Marlar (first husband), Guy Mitchell (second husband), Parents: Jesse and Blanche Stone; Brothers: Verle (Jenny) Stone, and Gerald Stone, Sister: Eileen (Jack) Bravo; Granddaughter: Dawn Sears, Grandson: JD Marlar, Great Grandsons; Jesse and Jordan Long.

She will be sorely missed by the whole family and friends.

Per Marie’s request, services will be held privately by the family. Flower donations at this time are kindly declined by the family.
