EllaVee Gurine Hatch Turner, after 95 wonderful years, has completed her earthly mission. She returned into the arms of her husband, family and Savior on March 22, 2023. She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully slipped away.

She was a precious daughter of Sisson Jacob and Emma Rosetta DeLange Hatch of Koosharem, Utah. She was the youngest and last surviving member of twelve children. She grew up in a faithful, loving home in Koosharem, Utah and attended high school in Richfield.

She saw many changes during her life from indoor plumbing and electricity coming to her little town, to passing away with an Apple watch on her wrist.

On June 1, 1953, she married Donald Claude Turner in the Manti Temple. They worked hand in hand raising their family of nine children and building a family business in Fillmore, Utah.

She taught her family by love and example. Her greatest strength was her testimony of the Savior and her whole life was built around her testimony of Him. She loved to serve others and served in nearly every stake and ward calling in the church available to women.

She was very skilled in arts and crafts. She sewed her own wedding dress and many of her daughter’s wedding dresses. She also made their wedding cakes. Her favorite skill was crocheting, and she made hundreds of afghans. She was very dedicated to family history. She created volumes of scrapbooks that are treasured family records.

She loved her family more than anything else in her life and always wanted to be with them. Her deepest desire was that her family stay together and love each other.

She is survived by her nine children, Terry Donald Turner (NonaLee), Gary S Turner (Diane), Sandra Turner, Valerie Hathaway (Michael), Tamara Hamill (Vincent), Regena Hansen (Mark), Lan H Turner (Janice), Aileen Schmitz (Timothy), Holly Quigley (Troy), 40 Grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. With several more to come! Sister-in-laws Karen Hill, and Joyce Hutchings, and Brother-in-law Roland Turner (Jacquie).

Preceded in Death by her husband, Donald Claude Turner, and one grandson Joseph Mathusek. Her parents, Sisson Jacob Hatch and Emma Rosetta DeLange, Siblings: Hugh, Franklin, Emma, Violet, Leaus, Smith, Pearl, Vedell, DeVerl, Thelma, Vilda, and their spouses. Her father and mother-in-law, Claude A Turner and LaNola Elaine Swallow and many other family members.

A viewing will be held in her honor Thursday, March 30th from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, March 31st from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A funeral will follow at 10 a.m. The viewings and funeral will be held at the Alpine View LDS Ward building at 4617 Patriot Ridge Drive, Herriman, Utah. A graveside service will be at the Fillmore Cemetery, at 3:00 p.m. following the funeral.

We are thankful to the angel nurses from Elevation Home and Hospice for their loving care of our mother during her final days, to Rasmussen Mortuary for their incredible dedicated service, and to the Alpine View and Fillmore 4th Wards for their compassionate service. The funeral service is under the direction of Bishop Aaron Ashby.
