Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Green, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, at her home in Riverton, Utah. She was 94 years old.
Betty was born on July 28, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, to Peter Lynch and Dorothy Goodman Lynch. On March 20, 1948, she married the love of her life, Edmund “Ed” Henry Green, in Upper Marlboro, MD. Their union was blessed with six children: Bryant, Susan, Kathleen, Mark, Patricia, and Diedre.
A woman of many talents and passions, Betty enriched the lives of those around her with artistic talent, skilled quilt-making, baking prowess, culinary delights, melodious voice, creative crafts, and love for reading. She was a proud member of the Roman Catholic faith and actively involved in various community organizations, including the New Comers Club, Retirement Group, and the Assistance League.
Betty will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Edmund H. Green, children Susan Rich (Michael), Kathleen Shurtleff (Glen), Mark Green (Cindy), Patricia Marchese (Robert), and Diedre Bowers (David), and grandchildren Jessica, Justin, Sean, Cory, Traci, Sarah, Chelsea, Kyle, Alana, Michael, Matthew, and Bryce, along with ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bryant Green (Susan), and grandson, Ryan Green.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, located at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah 84092.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, located at 300 E 11800 S, Draper, Utah 84020.
Betty's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
