Eldon was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 14, 1947, to Parley Oluf Hansen and Edith Sargent McKean. The youngest of 3 sons Eldon served in the US Army from 1968-1971. Eldon married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Marilyn Swapp on Feb 10, 1967. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake temple on November 26,1968. They remained happily married for 55 years.

Eldon and Marilyn lived in Germany while he served in the US Army from 1969-1971. They then returned home to Davis County Utah where they lived for the next 18 years. For the last 33 years Eldon, Marilyn and much of their family have resided in Prosser Washington and called it home.

Eldon worked in the farm machinery parts industry most of his career until he decided to go back to school and get a degree in accounting. He finished his career working as an accountant.

Eldon is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Eldon and Marilyn were called to serve a mission for the Church in the labor/facilities department in the Prosser area from Oct 2018 to April 2020. Eldon willingly served in many callings within the church. He especially loved working with the youth and the children.

Eldon was a loving, kind and patient man who prioritized the lord and his family. They were his life!

If you were trying to locate Eldon, he could usually be found in the service of others. If he wasn’t helping someone, he was babysitting one of the grandkids or attending one of the many sporting events that the kids were enrolled in. He loved sports so much that he would even go watch games not knowing any of the players just to see a good game.

Eldon retired before Marilyn did. He spent his last years serving her and loving her endlessly. They took trips together and made memories together. Marilyn is the love of his life. Eldon left his earthly life surrounded by loving family members who will miss him dearly. Until we meet again.

Eldon is survived by his wife Marilyn, brother Parley (Nola); four children Sherii (Jeramy) Brasier, Brandy Hunt, Troy (Kelly) Hansen and Beckit (Ethan) Johnson. 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Parley Oluf and Edith Sargent McKean Hansen and his brother Virgil David Hansen.

Marilyn,

As a younger boy, growing up in Centerville Utah, Eldon was one of my sports hero's. An all around athlete, Eldon excelled in virtually every athletic endeavor. I looked up to and respected him. We lost touch with you and Eldon after our High School days, but the good memories and his inspiration will last forever. Peace and comfort to you and your family.

Uncle Eldon and Aunt Marilyn always had a seat at the table and open arms for me, my siblings and anyone who needed it. Ask my best friend Cindy. They opened their home to her and her sister so they could sleep before walking the Cancer walk in Seattle. No questions asked. We spent several summers at their house and the wonderful memories will be in my heart forever. Uncle Eldon will be greatly missed and is loved dearly by many. Aunt Marilyn....I love you so very much. Thank you both for being a huge part of my life...

Thinking of you, praying for comfort for Marilyn and family.

Eldon will be missed so much. He was truly a good man, often quietly servings others and teaching his children and grandchildren life’s lessons. Eldon taught me how to swim which took patience because I was afraid of the water. His parents home was my second home as a teenager. I have so many fun memories of teenage years and Marilyn and Eldon are a big part of those memories

Dearest Marilyn and family. My heart is so broken for you at this difficult time. There are no words that can take the pain away. I'm so glad we were able to have the wonderful memories we shared when we did. Eldon and I were very close growing up loved living next door to you while our kids were growing up. Very special times. Please know that I love all of you and having you in my prayers will be nightly. May our Heavenly Father comfort you in your sorrow. Love and hugs.
