Eldon LaVere Gardner was born on July 24, 1930 in Tooele, Utah to Harvey Clark Gardner and Alice Edna Horrocks Gardner. He was their third child and first son.
Eldon was raised in Springville, graduating from Springville High school in 1948. Shortly after graduation, Eldon enlisted in the US Army serving his country and fighting in the Korean War.
Eldon married his wife, Irene Rasmussen Gardner, on August 1, 1959; a marriage that was later sealed in the Logan Temple on July 3, 1968.
Eldon worked for several years for the Fuller Brush Company, for several auto dealerships, and finally owned an electronic repair store with his eldest son.
Spending time with his family camping, fishing, and hunting were his absolute favorite things.
Upon retiring, Eldon enjoyed life and served an 18-month Latter-day Saint service mission alongside his wife in Salt Lake City.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Irene; children, Michele (Kirk) MacKay; Teresa (Mark) Miera; Markay (Shauna) Gardner; Travis (Alex) Gardner; as well as eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his brother Rodney (Theresa) Gardner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Vontella, Verla, Ilene, and Larry.
A viewing will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road on October 6, 2021 from 6-8 pm. A Graveside service will be held on October 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4391 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
