Dorothy Jean Christensen, age 89, passed away on January 4, 2023. She was born on March 4, 1933, in South Gate, California to Marvin Christensen and Dorothy Bernice Koener.
Dorothy enjoyed collecting miniatures and old movies and making quilts out of pillow shams. She was well known for her love of ice cream and famous Boiled raisin cake. She retired from JC Penny where she worked for 10+ years. She was involved in many humanitarian programs through her church. The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She had a deep and abiding testimony of the gospel and lived it. She was a peacemaker and showed by example how to love as Jesus loves, unconditionally.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Terry Conlan, Karen Reynolds, and Debra Tripp.
She was preceded in death by Parents Marvin Christensen, and Dorothy (Koerner) Macklin; Her step-mother Georgia Christensen, sister and brother in law Sylvia and Delos Pead; brothers Gary Christensen, Gail Christensen, Nieces' Dee Ann Whittington and Jeanie Davies; Grandnephew Jeff Pead, and grandniece Keri Davies.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
