Doriene Roberta Baron Madsen

Jan 20, 1931 Oct 15, 2022

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend returned home to reunite with her sweetheart on October 15, 2022 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. She was petite in size and stature but her love and kindness could fill a room. She touched many lives whom simply knew her as “Grandma”. She dedicated her life to serving others and did it with grace, her door was always open. Her faith was strong and she was a devout member of the LDS church.

Doriene was born to William and Rosella (Christensen) Baron on January 20, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had many fond memories of growing up in the Rose Park area, graduated from West High School, and continued her education at the LDS Business College.

After 6 days of dating, two months of engagement she married the love of her life, Jack in the Manti Temple on September 5, 1950. Together they served a mission in Northern California from 1953-1955. She was an accountant for the Utah Board of Education. Doriene had a love for children and with Jack opened a daycare in their home for 10 years in their retirement.

Doriene enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting, she had a craft closet filled with whatever you could imagine to create. Her love for gardening and flowers were evident in her beautiful yard.

Doriene is survived by her children Raymond and Christine (Chad), 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and her siblings; Ronald, Betty, and Robert.

Preceded in death by her parents, eternal companion Jack, and son David.
