Dora Ellen Kamalu

Jun 9, 1934 Sep 5, 2026

Dora Ellen Kamalu, née Stump, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Provo, Utah. Born on June 9, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dora was raised in Taylorsville, Utah and Richmond, California. These childhood homes helped shape the strength, warmth, and character she carried throughout her life.

On June 1, 1955, Dora married Rodney Keliʻiokalani Kamalu in the Salt Lake City Temple, starting a life built on love, devotion, and shared family memories. Rodney preceded Dora in death in 2016.

Dora’s life was devoted to serving her husband, children and faith. She blessed those around her through her many talents. She was an avid genealogist, faithfully served in church callings, was an exquisite seamstress, and a dedicated cook. Her other passions included knitting, crocheting, playing piano, and reading. Dora was raised on a farm by parents who loved the land; she nurtured that love throughout her life, spending as much time as she could in her yards and gardens.

Dora is survived by her eight children and their spouses: Kyle Kamalu and Jennifer Leonard, Michelle and Glen Roberts, Darren and Ernell Kamalu, Maile and Thomas Roberts, Layne and Lorene Kamalu, Kimberly and Jay Wilcox, Roxane and John Nauahi, and Deanna and David Farley. She is also lovingly remembered by her 48 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Bloomington 4th Ward Chapel at 750 East Fort Pierce Drive North, in St. George, Utah on September 12, 2026. The viewing will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. After the viewing and service, Dora will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah.

Those who are unable to attend the service in person are invited to join the livestream at 11:00 AM: https://zoom.us/j/96932063485?pwd=UP74ux2QjTVxaqHRbnPvwaoUYOfMW8.1#success
