Donna Marion Cooley Mathews, age 89, passed away on March 28, 2021 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born on July 8, 1931 in Caliente, Nevada to Ernest and Catherine Cooley. Donna married Wallace LeGrand Mathews, Sr on August 27, 1949. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple.
Mom liked to bake cookies, candy, and cakes. She also liked to crochet, knit, and watch game shows.
Donna is survived by her eight children: Carol Trimble, Joy Williams, Kathy Hamberlin, Raina (Daryl) Mann, Valerie (Frederik) Overdiek, Wallace (Robin) Mathews, Jr, Jeffery (Kellie) Mathews, and Keri Mathews. 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Wallace LeGrand Mathews, Sr, parents Ernest and Catherine Cooley, four sisters, two brothers, son-in-laws Bill Williams and Bill Trimble, and great-grandson Cody Hamberlin.
Funeral services are by invitation only due to COVID-19, will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain View 7th Branch 8435 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah 84088. Viewings are open to everyone and will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and Friday 9:00 – 10:30 AM prior to the services at the same location. Interment to follow services at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
