Donna married Donald Oren Eggers, March 7, 1944, in Hamilton, Montana, and they were later sealed in the Cardston, Alberta Temple, on June 10, 1953. They were truly a match made in heaven. They had a deep love and were loyal and supportive of each other throughout their 71 years together.

After 11 years of marriage and many miscarriages, they were blessed with two sons, Sam, and Scott. They created a home where love, hard work and service were always emphasized.

Family was a priority with Donna, both her immediate family and extended family. She enjoyed every family reunion, and spent countless hours over most of her life researching family history, writing family histories, and doing temple work for family members.

Donna was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She loved and studied the scriptures and served in many callings. She was a Relief Society President at age 32, 52, 72 and said if she was called when she was 92, she would say “No!” She loved teaching early morning seminary and gospel doctrine classes. A highlight of her life was serving as a missionary with her husband Don in the Donetsk, Ukraine mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Donna was a life-long learner. She enjoyed taking classes. She was very quick to learn and observe and had a sharp mind. She worked most of her life and held a variety of jobs, all of which she excelled in.

Donna is survived by her sister Theresa Harris, sons Sam (Becky), and Scott (Janet), 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, and siblings, Gene Alcorn, Cecil Alcorn, Joyce Hughes, Betty Harrison, Dixie Smith, Marlene Payne, Norma Cisneros, and Jerry Alcorn.

I echo my brother James. We lived in California when the Eggers did. It was always a highlight when we went for a visit. It was like having another aunt, uncle and cousins who lived nearby. I'm sorry I had lost track of her for quite a while. I wish I had known she was living so close to me.
