Donald Allen Swain, 75, of West Jordan, Utah, was Born on June 22, 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona to Eli Vernon Swain and Cherril Cutler. He passed away Peacefully the morning of January 25, 2023, after battling Cancer for the past two years. Don spent much of his early years in Phoenix, Arizona graduating from Maryvale High School. Don lived a life of service. After High School he joined the US Navy where he served 4 years. After completion of his military service, he served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in London, England. He met and Married Jill Marie Holland on May 23, 1975, in the Salt Lake City Temple. He served 28 years in the Utah Air National Guard as a crew chief on a KC135 refueling plane as part of the refueling squadron, serving actively in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. After retirement he served as an ordinance worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. He was also very active in the Church serving in many callings including Ward Clerk, Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, and 11 year old’s Scout Master. He also worked at Sam’s Club for many years after retiring from the Guard. Don had many interests in his life camping, fishing, hunting, metal detecting, coin collecting, and sports cards. He was an active member of the Utah Numis matic society He was the commemorative metals chairman 20 years. He was also an active member in the National Utah Token Society and was also metals chairman for 22 years. Don is preceded in Death by his Mom, Dad, Wife of 41 years, and Brother Gregory Kent. Survived by His children Lisa (Mike) Back, Heather (Daryl) Kauffold, Jeremy (Raechel) Swain, and Roger (Angela) Swain. He has 2 Sisters and 3 brothers. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Don ran a good race and fought a good fight and is now in the rest of his Lord. There will be a viewing held on Friday Feb. 3rd from 6-8 P.M. At Redwood Memorial 6500 S. Redwood Rd. Another Viewing will be held Saturday Feb. 4th from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at LDS Chapel 6500 S. Dixie Dr. Funeral Services will be Saturday Feb. 4th from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at LDS Chapel 6500 S. Dixie Dr. West Jordan, UT. 84084. With Interment next to his Loving Wife following at 12:30 P.M. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary Cemetery 6500 S. Redwood Rd. West Jordan, UT. 84123
