Donald C McCleery

Donald C. McCleery, 67, of Murray Utah, passed peacefully on November 4, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at home.

Don was born in Salt Lake City on April 6, 1954. He attended East High School, married Marilyn Brunson in 1973 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake temple in 1977. They moved to Murray in 1982 and that is where they raised their family. Don worked in the banking industry where he met and held many great friendships. He was known as, “the man of many words…” Don liked to fish and made some great memories with his children while doing so. In high school, Don bought and drove a 1953 Cadillac Hearse and loved that thing. He carried a picture of the car in his wallet and showed it to everyone.

His memory will be kept alive by his wife, Marilyn of 48 years. His children, Chuck, Chris (Jentri) and Margo (Brandon) Johns. His twin sister, Donna (Larry) Elcock and elder sister, Susan Wilding. His treasures, his grandchildren, Teagon and Mayvis and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joyce, his son Nicholas and his sisters, Erma Matson, Rebecca Mackay, Charlotte Jansen and Janet Beck.

The McCleery family would like to thank the members of the Park View Ward for their kindness and help. They also want to thank Atlas Homecare and Hospice. Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Don in Salt Lake at a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday November 8, 2021 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Salt Lake, Utah 84111 or Tuesday November 9, 2021 where the viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:45 PM and the funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment in the South Jordan City Cemetery.
