Donald Alvin Jensen

Donald Alvin Jensen passed away February 1, 2021 of causes incident to age (non Covid-19). Don was born January 21, 1933 in Morgan, Utah to Alvin M. and Marie Frances Gozdowski Jensen. He was the oldest of three boys, Edward and Wayne being his younger brothers. Don served in the US Navy during the Korean War from January 1951 to December 1953. He met his future wife, Myrna Joy Stoddart, in Santa Rosa, CA while serving in the Navy. They were married December 4, 1953 and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in September of 1954.

Don graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in June of 1958. He worked as a CPA and Controller for Nelson Ricks Creamery, Movitz Company and CDI Media. After retirement he worked part time for Sky Properties. He volunteered at the Golden Years Center delivering Meals on Wheels for about ten years.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions during his life, including Financial Clerk (before there were computers), Elder’s Quorum 2nd Counselor and President, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Welfare Specialist, Temple Worker at the Bountiful Temple and most recently again Financial Clerk.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, Edward. He is survived by his brother Ed’s wife (Bobbie), one brother, Wayne (Gay), four children, Diane (Carl) Larson, Eric (Judy) Jensen, Craig (Brenda) Jensen and Blayne (Norma) Jensen, his 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no public viewing. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm MST, Saturday, February 6 at the Mueller Park 3rd Ward, 1825 S. 800 E., Bountiful, Utah. Please follow Covid-19 guidelines and wear masks. Interment-Lakeview Memorial Estates.
