Dennis R Lorange

Apr 19, 1946 Oct 13, 2022

Murray, Utah -

Our loving, loyal husband and father, Dennis Ray Lorange, 76, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on April 19, 1946, to Louis Arnold Lorange and Lucille Parker. His mother later remarried to Ray Parker, who became a proud father figure to him.

At age 19 he was called and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He met the love of his life, his earthly angel, Glenna, who within one week of knowing him, asked him if he would marry her. She took his breath away from moment one and he never looked back. They wed in 1968 and were able to Celebrate 53 years together last November. They built their life together surrounded by their son Mike and daughter Kristen.

Everyone who knew Denny felt his big heart and giving nature. He had such a contagious laugh and smile that always lit up the room. Anyone who crossed his path usually ended up with a nickname given by him, from ‘sweet-cheeks’ to ‘meatball’. You earned that name and it stuck. He loved spending time with family, friends and his sweet dog Gizzy. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Because he was a big kid at heart, all of his grandchildren adored him, with whom he spent countless hours pushing swings and strollers, teasing and chasing, playing ball, and countless other activities. Denny had a love for all sports and was a natural athlete. There was not anything he did not excel in, from golf, to baseball as well as bowling. He enjoyed them all. He spent many years on the baseball field with his son, as well as always supporting his daughter’s dance recitals. He was so proud of his kids in all they did, his love and support was never ending.

Denny worked at Sears for the entirety of his career, where he became an important and reliable fixture in his community; loved by his many colleagues throughout the years.

After retirement, he and his wife spent time traveling with family and friends, creating amazing memories (even in the where’d “Denny-Go?” moments). He was especially particular and very proud of his yard and keeping it in pristine condition. He cherished spending time with his wife, renovating their home together, going on walks with Gizzy and finding ways to rekindle their love. He will be Forever Loved, Forever Missed, & Forever in our Hearts! ‘Mean it!’

Denny was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Brooks, all whom he loved so very much. He is also survived by his beautiful, loving wife and family; Glenna, his children: Mike Lorange(Ashley), Kristen Burton, nine grandchildren; Alexis, ‘H’, Taylor, Kynzee, Paizlee, Emery, Grayson, Kylee (Taylor) and Kody (Jeanne), as well as three great grandchildren; Kashton, Kenley and Brixton.

The family would like to thank all of our family and friends for their support and prayers during this challenging time. We are eternally grateful for the huge outreach of love and support during and throughout our lives. A special heartfelt thank you to his cousin, Pearl Richey and husband Bob, who spent time with Dad and Mom prior to and after his passing, giving so much love and compassion to our family.

A “Celebration of Life” will be on Saturday, October 29th at Calvary Salt Lake, 460 W. Century Drive (4350 S.) from 10:00 A.M to Noon.
